Comfort in Mattoon

The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, really made me feel at home. The spacious room offered a lovely sitting area where we enjoyed a quiet morning with hot coffee. For families, the complimentary breakfast had a variety of options, making it convenient for everyone.

We had a lovely weekend with clean rooms and a great breakfast spread that never ran low. The pool was a hit with the kids, and we loved the outdoor seating area for some chill time. Just a heads-up, the bathroom door didn’t shut well, but it didn’t ruin our fun! 😊

The exit door labeled as such was out of order, forcing me to navigate through a tricky stairwell renovation where loose carpet posed a tripping hazard. Misleading information about the pool’s availability was frustrating, especially since it's a major draw for families. Additionally, the hot water in the breakfast room came out brown and unappealing, and the juice seemed diluted. To top it off, the extra lock on my room door was broken, and I also encountered some pesky insects around the room, which added to the discomfort of the stay.

Friendly staff made our stay enjoyable, always responsive to our needs. The breakfast was decent, featuring classic fried fish, which was a nice surprise. However, the shower setup in room 317 was awkward, with soap dishes and a grab bar positioned where water flowed, making it uncomfortable while washing. The room itself was clean and equipped with useful amenities like a mini fridge, but I hope the other rooms have a better bathroom design.

The queen room with two queen beds was comfy and clean. Had air conditioning, a desk, hairdryer, and refrigerator. No microwave though. The breakfast had a great selection with egg dishes and pastries. The fitness center was nice to use after a day out exploring. The location was close to restaurants and shops.

We had a fun time boating at Lake Mattoon while enjoying our spacious room with two queens. The kids loved the breakfast options, especially the waffles!

In my wife’s opinion, the pool should have been open for family fun.

Had an amazing time with my friends! We enjoyed sailing and fishing in the beautiful surroundings at Lake Mattoon. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the friendly staff made our stay even better. Highly recommend checking out nearby activities. there’s so much to do and see. Perfect spot for a group vacation!

One downside was a bit of noise from the traffic, but it was manageable. Just a heads up for light sleepers.

I found the Best Western Heartland Inn to be a lovely haven with warm decor and inviting common areas. The staff were exceptionally attentive and caring, making every interaction pleasant and ensuring my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
